The DuraMold is the key to making the iShelter or iHouse so quickly and as one contiguous form. The process of making the disaster relief shelters or low cost housing units comes from the easy of filling the mold with our proprietary Structurally Insulated Housing (SIH) material. The mold can be filled with the SIH material manually using a mixer and 5 gallon pails to mix the material in or in more advanced, higher speed application, a dispenser can be used.
The mold is designed to be managed by approximately 6 to 8 workers. The fastening mechanisms that hold the mold together utilize a pin mechanism. This design feature enables the mold to be operated with common hammers. This type of lock feature also makes it possible to assemble and dis-assemble the mold very quickly.
Each DuraMOLD is expected to build a minimum of 500 iShelters or iHouse units.

Assembly of the mold panels is achieved with a simple locking pin mechanism. Shown here is the assembly with a hammer.
